Crucial MX200 500GB SSD

The Crucial MX200 500GB SSD is the newest line of performance SSD’s from one of the top SSD brands, Crucial. When the Crucial® MX100 was released, it set a new standard for SSDs that the Crucial MX200 pushes even further. Leveraging leading specs on all fronts, along with new Dynamic Write Acceleration technology, the Crucial MX200 is loaded with innovative features and immediately increases your system’s performance.

Let’s take a look at some of those said features and performance numbers:

I’ve got my hands on the 500GB model so I’ll be putting that through the paces.

Packaging:
Stock standard SSD packaging with the Crucial MX200 500GB. Nothing spectacular from any other SSD boxes but it does have quite a polished and durable design to it. The SSD does sit in plastic protection housing instead of foam but I don’t think it will make much of a difference.

Performance:
It’s fast. With advertised read speeds up to 555MB/s and 500MB/s for write it achieves speed very close to these numbers in real world tests. For me, this SSD was about using it as a games drives for my installs. Games loaded faster and it was definitely a enlightening experience with games loading up in seconds. Even games like Civilisation were no match for the Crucial MX200 500GB SSD. It’s simply fast and reliable.

Conclusion:
It’s competitively priced and with software and game installs getting bigger and bigger you’re going to need something like a Crucial MX200 500GB SSD to meet that demand. It has become a necessary upgrade with today’s computer market so next time you’re shopping for an SSD, make sure to consider the line of Crucial MX200’s.
